East Bay CNA Academy offers a comprehensive Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Training Program designed to prepare students for state certification and entry-level employment in healthcare settings throughout California.
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Training Program
Our CNA program meets all California Department of Public Health (CDPH) requirements and provides students with the knowledge, skills, and hands-on experience needed to succeed as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
Program Length:
6 Weeks (Full-Time)
Total Hours: 160 Hours
60 Hours – Classroom / Theory Instruction
100 Hours – Supervised Clinical Training at a Skilled Nursing Facility

Curriculum Overview
The CNA Training Program includes instruction in, but is not limited to:
Resident Rights and Professional Conduct
Communication and Interpersonal Skills
Infection Control and Safety
Personal Care Skills (bathing, grooming, toileting)
Vital Signs
Body Mechanics and Safe Transfers
Nutrition and Hydration
Dementia and Alzheimer’s Care
Rehabilitation and Restorative Care
Emergency Procedures
Death and Dying
Clinical Skills Practice and Evaluation
Clinical Training Experience
Students complete 100 hours of supervised clinical training at an approved Skilled Nursing Facility. During clinical rotations, students gain real-world experience providing direct patient care under the supervision of qualified instructors.
Certification Eligibility
Upon successful completion of the program, graduates are eligible to apply for the California CNA State Certification Exam administered by a state-approved testing vendor. Certification is granted by the California Department of Public Health upon passing the state examination.
