Compliance Statement
This Policies & Procedures Manual has been cross-checked and aligned with the East Bay CNA Academy Enrollment Agreement, Admissions Requirements, and Tuition & Refund Policy. All policies comply with California Code of Regulations, Title 22, and California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Nurse Assistant Training Program (NATP) standards.
Program Description
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Training Program consists of 160 total hours, including 60 hours of theory instruction and 100 hours of supervised clinical training. Successful completion qualifies graduates to apply for the California CNA State Certification Examination.
Admissions Policy
Students must meet all eligibility, health, background, and physical requirements as outlined in the Admissions Requirements and Enrollment Agreement. Failure to maintain eligibility may result in dismissal without guarantee of refund beyond policy allowances.
Attendance Policy
Students are required to complete 100% of required theory and clinical hours. Absences must be reported. Make-up hours may be permitted at the discretion of the Program Administrator. Excessive absences may result in dismissal.
Tardiness Policy
Students are expected to arrive on time for all instructional activities. Excessive tardiness may be treated as an absence and subject to disciplinary action.
Grading and Evaluation
Student performance is evaluated through written exams, skills demonstrations, clinical evaluations, and professional conduct. Satisfactory performance is required in all components.
Skills Competency
Students must demonstrate competency in all required CNA skills. Remediation may be provided at the discretion of the Program Administrator. Failure to demonstrate competency may result in dismissal.
Clinical Training Policy
Clinical training is conducted at CDPH-approved skilled nursing facilities. Students are supervised at all times by qualified instructors and may not replace facility staff.
Professional Conduct
Students are expected to maintain professional behavior, comply with HIPAA regulations, follow facility policies, and wear required uniforms. Violations may result in dismissal.
Substance Abuse Policy
Use of alcohol, illegal drugs, or impairment during class or clinical activities is prohibited and will result in immediate dismissal.
Academic Integrity
Cheating, falsification of records, or dishonesty is prohibited and may result in dismissal.
Student Grievance Procedure
Students may submit grievances in writing to the Program Administrator without fear of retaliation. A written response will be provided within 10 business days. Unresolved grievances may be escalated to CDPH.

East Bay CNA Academy does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, national origin, or any protected status.
Tuition, Fees, and Refund Policy
Tuition, fees, refunds, and withdrawals are governed by the Tuition & Refund Policy incorporated into the Enrollment Agreement.
Dismissal Policy
Students may be dismissed for excessive absences, failure to meet academic or clinical standards, violation of policies, failure to maintain eligibility, or non-payment of tuition.
Records Retention
Student records are maintained in accordance with CDPH Title 22 requirements and are available for inspection upon request.
Certification Disclaimer
Completion of the program does not guarantee certification or employment. Certification is granted by CDPH upon passing the state examination.

Students are required to review and acknowledge these policies prior to enrollment.
